It has come to the last day of the first half of 2023. June 30th is a special date. It not only means that the whole half of the year has passed, but also means that the second half of the year is about to start!
We chose to announce a long-planned new product on June 30, as MINIWARE's "work summary" for the first half of 2023.
As early as N years ago, MINIWARE fans heard about this product - MINIWARE Cordless Soldering Station (soldering iron). This heating tool, named TS1C, is the first new energy storage smart desktop soldering tool based on BLE4.2 Bluetooth communication designed and developed by e-Design. Since it is called a "soldering station", the product must include two parts: the control station and the soldering pen. The control station performs wireless pairing and communication with the soldering pen through Bluetooth communication. And "cordless", as the name suggests, is that the pen has its own energy storage, which can be used without a power cable to get rid of the shackles of the "long tail".
The reason why TS1C's soldering pen can be "docked" is that there is a supercapacitor inside, also known as farad capacitor and gold capacitor. Supercapacitor is a new type of energy storage capacitor with high energy storage density and fast charging and discharging, which is between traditional capacitors and rechargeable batteries. Compared with batteries using electrochemical principles, the charging and discharging process of supercapacitors does not involve changes in substances, the charging time is short, and the service life is long without dramatic drop of capacity, saving energy and environmental friendly.
As the "base station", TS1C Control Station has a simple and smooth overall design, sharp and cool--in fact, it looks like a black gold "big hoof" from a certain angle. The control station adopts a 128*64 pixel OLED screen, which is divided into a status bar and a data area. The status of the soldering pen and real-time working data are displayed in partitions. It can perform multiple remote operations on the soldering pen, such as station preheating, temperature adjustment, menu setting, and information viewing, and also works as a stand and charging base for the soldering pen.
The USB Type-C interface of TS1C Control Station for power supply and firmware upgrade is located at the tip of the "hoof", which can be connected to a standard PD 20V power source with a maximum of 45W. In addition to the soft double C-port silicone power cable, the TS1C Cordless Soldering Station package is also equipped with a sponge slot, which can be installed on the expansion slot at the bottom of the control station with screws; two additional expansion slots at different positions are added at the bottom. It can not only be used to install expansion accessories for other functions, but also can be used to change the installation position of the sponge slot, which is convenient for different user habits--the metal piece on the sponge slot is also non-fixed, and can be placed in different directions of the sponge slot, so that you can scrape tin on the metal piece or temporarily support the tip to prevent high heat from damaging the plastic parts--this is a really thoughtful design~
To this dream ¡°couple¡± of TS1C Control Station and Soldering Pen, they are soul mates. This combination of dynamic and static has a tacit understanding of each other. After the Bluetooth pairing is completed, the control station displays the status of the soldering pen in real time, and the "heartstrings" of the pen can be "triggered" through the buttons and knobs of the station, and the "mind" is transmitted to the pen.
TS1C Soldering Pen adopts a minimalist design style, only one Boost button and the top USB interface are reserved on the pen. Most of the functions of the pen can be realized by controlling the station. When the pen is successfully connected to the station, press Button A on the station, and the station will automatically control the pen to preheat. You can prepare for soldering during this period, and when you pick up the pen, it will automatically heat up to the preset working temperature, saving time and energy. If you feel it weak when soldering large solder joints, press and hold the Boost button on the pen to wake up the "force" of the soldering iron, raise the temperature to 400¡ãC, and easy and quick enough to get it done. After releasing the button, the soldering pen will automatically fall back to the preset working temperature, which is convenient to continue the normal soldering operation.
You may ask, how long can the TS1C last on a single charge? Before answering, let's take a look at the power supply method of TS1C. TS1C Soldering Pen has a built-in 750 Farad supercapacitor with a rated voltage of 3.8V. When the pen is correctly placed on the base, the supercapacitor is charged through the station and the energy is stored, and the supercapacitor of the pen can be fully charged in about 7 minutes. When the soldering pen is in working state, the pen provides the energy required for heating through the energy stored in the capacitor, and the maximum power can reach 36W. According to the laboratory data, under a single full charge state, soldering at 25¡ãC room temperature at 300¡ãC, the soldering pen can continuously solder more than 180 solder joints of 0805 components. In consideration of the emergency situation that the capacitor may be low battery, but the soldering task cannot be interrupted, the user can lift the metal decorative piece on the top of the pen, and use the USB Type-C interface on the top (also for firmware upgrade) to input power source in emergency. The lifted metal decorative piece can also be temporarily placed in the circular shallow groove at the bottom of the control station to avoid missing.
The soldering pen uses MINIWARE 3.5mm audio interface soldering tips, that is, TS80/80P soldering iron series tips. The length of this tip series is shorter than that of TS100 series soldering tips, which is more conducive to fine soldering operation. The pen has multiple intelligent safety protections such as over-temperature protection, capacitor low-voltage protection, and charging protection, which also ensures that users can enjoy the smooth experience of cordless soldering brought by hard-core high-tech.
TS1C Control Station and Soldering Pen are embedded with e-Design firmware upgrade software DFU (Device Firmware Upgrade), which not only are "heart-to-heart" but also "co-progress" through continuous optimization through firmware upgrades to improve functions. As for the software and hardware version of the product, you can check it through the station menu. When downloading firmware upgrade resources from the official website, pay attention to the name of the file. The "P" (Pen) after the TS1C model means the soldering pen, and then "S" (Station) 's represent the control station. If you accidentally flash the wrong firmware, remember to flash the correct firmware again.
